Athlete of the Month: Quisha Hearn

LaQuisha Hearn
Let us introduce everyone to Quisha Hearn, a wife, a mother, a teacher and a bodybuilder. We were drawn to her at the Daytona Pro Am in Daytona Florida. I asked for her story, and this is what she told me:
“I actually fell into a depression back in 2015 when my mom got sick. That same year, I had a stroke at 26. I decided to make small changes to try and be healthier. So, November of 2021, I found a gym and hired a personal trainer. As soon as I walked in, my trainer at the time, asked me had I ever considered bodybuilding before. I laughed and told her no. And within a week, I was in prep for my first competition. I placed 5th in my first show back in April. I was in love with the process already but that day I fell in love with the art of bodybuilding. I wanted more and 5th place was so not going to cut it for me. LOL
I am currently 80 pounds down and in the best shape of my life. I wake up at 3:30 AM every morning to train before heading to work. I am a high school teacher so it’s nice to demonstrate daily to my students what dedication and commitment looks like. They will appreciate it one day and perhaps model that behavior. I am also a full-time graduate student; I graduate December 17th. I was a competitive athlete my entire life. I ran track from elementary all the way through college and a struggled to find my purpose after it was all over. I tried everything from powerlifting all the way down to CrossFit. Nothing filled that void, that is, until I became a bodybuilder. My goal is to be a pro athlete and to one day grace the stage at the Olympia…I won’t stop until I do! 💪🏾”
She’s a sponsored athlete of Gorilla Labz Athletics Apparel and Gorilla Labz Athletics on her way to Nationals in December so let’s cheer her on and give her all the support she deserves. 🏆
